Before you start designing your deck, there are a few things that you can do to make it easier.
If you use a lot of pictures, it will be easier if you create a folder on your computer that you name "photoplayingcards" or something similar where you can collect all your photos in one spot.
It will also be easier if you name the photos in such a way that the names tell something about the photos.
It can be very helpful if each name contains both the name of the person and an activity or place.
A name like "DadPlayingGolf.jpg" or "DadInKitchen.jpg". will be much less confusing than a name that is created by your camera such as "DSC01467.jpg".
Don't remove the ".jpg" at the end of the name though because that tells the computer that the file contains a picture instead of text or a computer program.
When you are designing your deck or decks, bear in mind that the setup fee is a charge that's based on the number of photos that I have to edit.
It doesn't matter how many times a photo is used so if you use the same photo on all 4 kings, it only counts as 1 photo.
You can also use the same photos in different decks without paying an additional setup fee.
If you want to create one deck that uses maternal grandparents for the kings and queens and a different deck that uses paternal grandparents for the kings and queens, you don't have to pay twice for the pictures of the grandkids that are used in both decks.
Be aware also that you can include captions with the pictures at no additional cost.
I have other commitments that prevent me from being available on a regular schedule, but I work from my home and I'm available most of the time.
I have a phone next to my bed and have the ability to wake up and fall asleep in about 10 seconds so feel free to call even if it's the middle of the night.
If you get my answering machine and want me to return your call, please tell me the best time to contact you, repeat your phone number twice, and speak slowly.
There are 5 steps in creating and ordering your deck.
A password protected private space is created for you the first time you sign in.
You can reserve your space by clicking on the "Sign In" button and following the instructions.
Once you've reserved your private place on our database you will be able to send pictures,
design your deck, and fill out an order form.
Since your area is password protected, only you will be able to access your information.
Signing in and sending photos doesn't obligate you in any way and you will not be contacted unless
you place an order or I see evidence that you are having difficulty designing your deck.
Uploading Your Pictures
Once you enter your personal area, the top of this form will refer to you by your name instead of
"Guest's Place". The web site will then allow you to send photos, design your deck, etc.
Begin by clicking on the tab labeled "Send Pictures". A screen will appear that allows you to send
your pictures by simply entering the filename of the picture and clicking on the "Send" button.
All pictures are stored in your own private area until you are ready to design your deck.
Signing In
There is no need to complete the entire process at one time so you are free to send pictures one at a time over a period of several days.
Assigning Pictures to Cards
After all the pictures have been sent, you can assign pictures to cards by clicking on the tab labeled "Design Deck". This will open a page with a tool that allows any of the pictures that you sent to be assigned to any cards.
This tool contains a color coded pulldown menu for every card in the deck. Each pulldown menu lists all the pictures that you sent so with one click to open the pulldown menu and another click to select the appropriate picture, you can assign a picture to a card.
Nothing is saved until you hit the "Submit" button, so you are welcome to look at this page and see how easy it will be to use even before you send all your pictures.
Card values between A-10 are initialized by default to specify cards with standard spots of hearts, clubs, etc. You may either keep the default settings or select pictures for these cards.
The Order Form
The order form is self explanatory and allows you to include special instructions with your order.
Paying Online
Credit cards are accepted through a secure link to PayPal, a company that specializes in accepting credit cards. Nobody at Photo Playing Cards will ever see your credit card information.
You may also pay by check. If you decide to pay by check, please notify me when you send the check so I know you want the cards and can begin to work on your order.
